It’s hard to believe that it’s already August- summer is just flying by! We are enjoying the benefits of months of hard work on the part of our food and craft vendors, who provide us with a bounty of the freshest local produce and meats, and handmade items which make wonderful gifts for loved ones.


SNAP customers- SNAP and HIP benefits are refreshed for the month, so take advantage of the best the season has to offer. WFM’s SNAP match of up to $10 helps our customers purchase more fresh produce!

Sleepy Owl returns to the Market this week with grass-fed pasture raised beef, farm raised pork, and fresh produce along with a selection of their seasonal herbal teas and hand crafted alternative health remedies.

Growing With Minerals

Growing With Minerals is an all-volunteer urban farm in Westfield. Volunteers work to restore the soil biology and grow healthy and healing vegetables with all the flavor and nutrition God and nature intended. Offering fresh vegetables, plants, herbs and natural healing products.

Livingstone Mycology

In addition to growing gourmet mushrooms, Livingstone Mycology recently collaborated with Sleepy Owl Herbs and created Vagabond’s Vinegar, a mushroom infused spicy herbal vinegar cold remedy and healing blend that can also be used as a vinaigrette or in any recipe calling for vinegar.

The Bread Basket

Craving cinnamon rolls for breakfast (or maybe dinner if it’s too hot to cook)? The Bread Basket has them ready to go every week, along with a huge assortment of freshly baked loaves, fruit filled pies, whoopie pies and more!

Glenn Weiser is classical guitarist who switched to acoustic fingerpicking. He has written several books on fingerstyle guitar and harmonica, and teaches lessons on several instruments In Enfield CT and Northampton. At the Westfield Farmer Market you’ll hear him cover 60s and 70s hits, blues, folk and classic country. Visit his website for more information.

Pop Club This Week

Stop by the Pop Tent to sign in and get your Pop Bucks!


Next week, at the August 8th Market, we'll be collecting food for the Little Food Pantry. Pop Club members who bring a canned or nonperishable food item will receive an additional $2 in Pop Bucks as a thank you for their donation.

Rachel’s Table is the premier food rescue and distribution program in Western Massachusetts, created by members of the Women’s Philanthropy Division of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts to address food insecurity in the region. Bring your donations of unexpired non-perishable goods and/or fresh produce to the WFM Market Tent where it will be collected by Rachel’s Table volunteers after each market.

Guess the Copper Beech Tree's Age 50/50 Contest

Tickets are available at the ECOTA tent at WFM every Thursday until August 29th.

Rules

  • Write your name, contact info, and guess on the ticket and place it in the contest jar.
  • One guess per ticket
  • No limit on tickets
  • The winning ticket will be the guess closest to the actual age of the tree.
  • The winner receives 50% of the pot. Multiple winners will split the winnings evenly.
  • Contest runs until August 29, 2024.
  • The winner(s) will be contacted on Labor Day weekend.
  • The actual age of the Copper Beech Tree will be announced on Labor Day Sunday (September 1, 2024) and will be posted on ECOTA’s website and WFM’s website.
