This warm and (mostly) mild September feels like a long farewell to an outstanding summer, gently easing us towards the official start of fall this weekend. Apples may have replaced peaches but you’ll still find plenty of your favorite summer veggies alongside the winter squash and pumpkins that have recently appeared.
This week, we’re excited to welcome some of Westfield State’s first year students who’ll be visiting the Market and exploring downtown Westfield as part of the Discovering Westfield program. Welcome Owls!
If you ordered mums during the ACTS Giant Mum Sale, your mums will be available for pickup on Sunday, September 15th and September 22nd.

Mass Farmers Markets will be showcasing Massachusetts farmers and small businesses at the Massachusetts Building, and they need dedicated volunteers from Sep. 13th to 29th to work a 4.5-hour shift at their booth. New to the market this week is Sharpen Something!, run by James Moreau. James has been sharpening since 2018 and truly enjoys bringing people's kitchen knives and other cutting tools back to life. Bring your dull knives and questions
Westfield Cultural Council
It's Westfield Cultural Council final week at the Market and your last chance to share your opinions and help them determine their funding priorities for next year. WCC has provided grants for WFM's season-long Music at the Market series, ArtWorks of Westfield's Downtown Live Summer Concert Series, next month's WOW Pumpkinfest, and other community programs that you, your family, friends, and neighbors have enjoyed. Please take a few moments to stop by WCC's table and share your thoughts.

Rachel’s Table is the premier food rescue and distribution program in Western Massachusetts, created by members of the Women’s Philanthropy Division of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts to address food insecurity in the region. Bring your donations of unexpired non-perishable goods and/or fresh produce to the WFM Market Tent where it will be collected by Rachel’s Table volunteers after each market.
Guess the Copper Beech Tree's Age 50/50 Raffle
Buy a $5 ticket in ECOTA’s 50-50 raffle and put in your best guess of how old you think the Copper Beech tree was when it was cut down. The raffle has been extended until October 17, 2024 and tickets are available at the church and at ECOTA’s table at the market. The drawing will be held on October 20, 2024.
