WFM Market News - August 22, 2024

Hi Market Friends,

We’ve reached the half-way point of the Market season and while this week’s cooler weather is giving us a taste of autumn, we’re still enjoying the flavors of summer. West Parish Orchards returns to the market this week with their delicious peaches. And, of course, you’ll find all the produce you need, plus a few things you might not have thought of, Thursday at the market.

This is the last week that Boys and Girls Club of Greater Westfield will offer free lunch from 1:00-1:30 at the Market. We thank them for serving free lunches to the young people of our community throughout the summer.

Our final POP Club activity of the season is writing Thank You cards to the farmers at the market. Starting next week, POP Club members will check in at the entrance table to pick up their POP Bucks.

See you Thursday!

Pop Club This Week: Thank You Cards for the Farmers

Stop by the POP Tent and pick up your POP Bucks, then take a few minutes to make a thank you card to the market farmers. Tell them what you learned about produce this summer, or what your new favorite fruit or vegetable is, or whatever it is you'd like them to know!

Rachel’s Table is the premier food rescue and distribution program in Western Massachusetts, created by members of the Women’s Philanthropy Division of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts to address food insecurity in the region. Bring your donations of unexpired non-perishable goods and/or fresh produce to the WFM Market Tent where it will be collected by Rachel’s Table volunteers after each market.

We thank the generous sponsors and funders of our 2024 season
